Process Button Pusher?

Can process improvement result in a fight - almost!
Once I was analyzing a weekly reporting process, the first person talked about her team gathering data, creating & delivering a report, and storing historical reports. When I asked the recipient what she does with the report, she took an uncomfortable moment, then admitted a year ago their needs changed and didn't need it anymore, so she "just threw it away". Yikes!

Both were just process button pushers. The analyst never followed up with the recipient about potential evolving needs. And worse, the recipient simply allowed a fellow coworker to spend time on a known non-value add.
This week’s assignment: Identify a process where you can deep-dive into the business value and it's underlying financials.
As a process owner, business leader, or future leader -- you must always be learning about where & how business value is created and how to improve it.
That's my 8020 Framework.
